Emily Wright is a consultant at Berlin-based think-tank adelphi in the field of climate and energy diplomacy. Focuses of her research include migration and displacement in the context of environmental and climate change, and broader analyses of how countries may be affected by both climate change impacts and low-carbon transition processes. Emily completed her Master’s degree in Contemporary European Politics, Policy and Society at the University of Bath, UK, and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.
She is a co-author of several reports, including “Migration, environment and climate change: Responding via climate change adaptation policy”, prepared on behalf of the German Environment Agency (UBA), and “Spreading Disease, Spreading Conflict? COVID-19, Climate Change and Security Risks”, prepared as part of the Climate Diplomacy initiative, a collaborative effort of the German Federal Foreign Office in partnership with adelphi.
Emily will be supporting adelphi’s work on WP6 and WP7 of the HABITABLE project when she returns from maternity leave in 2022.
HABITABLE aims to significantly advance our understanding of the current interlinkages between climate impacts and migration and displacement patterns, in order to better anticipate their future evolutions.
