Work Package 7

Scenario Narratives

WP7 will co-produce “scenario narratives” for the year-2050, identifying scenario-specific entry points for political action and making suggestions for adapting climate and migration policies, in order to tackle the possible challenges associated with different scenarios.

Mission & Objectives

WP7 will produce two distinct sets of scenario narratives: The first set will focus on the possible interactions between future slow-onset climatic events and (voluntary) migration across international borders. The second set will be dedicated to the study of migration and displacement in connection with rapid-onset climatic events. These scenario narratives will be co-produced with  non-expert and expert audiences from the European Union and regions of study (Africa and South-East Asia) during workshops and dialogues. WP5 will result in a set of coherent and plausible scenario narratives, considering different states of the future. The narratives will (preliminary) integrate results of WP4, WP5 and WP6, and a special focus will be put on “no-regrets” measures that work in more than one scenario.
