Gianfranco Gabriele Nucera is Researcher in International Law and Adjunct Professor of Environmental Justice and Climate Change; Member of the Academic Board of the PhD in Public, Comparative and International Law and of the Scientific Board of the Master course in International Protection of Human Rights at Sapienza University.
LLM in International Relations and PhD in International Order and Human Rights, his research has explored the relationship and intersections between human rights law and other areas of international law, such as environmental law and sustainable development as well as protection of refugees and migrants.
In 2017, Gianfranco participated in the research program “50 Years of Space Law” of the Center for Studies and Research of The Hague Academy of International Law, with a research on “Information via Satellite: a Human Rights Perspective”.
Currently, he supervises the project on The Protection of Refugees and Migrants in the Current Changing World: Fostering New Approaches within the Existing System or Time to Reform?, in collaboration with the Italian MCO of UNHCR, funded by Sapienza University.
Gianfranco participates in the activities of WP 6 and is responsible for Task 6.1 of the HABITABLE Project.
HABITABLE aims to significantly advance our understanding of the current interlinkages between climate impacts and migration and displacement patterns, in order to better anticipate their future evolutions.
