Eshetu Gurmu is Associate Professor of Population Studies and Anthropology at Addis Ababa University, and Head of the Population and Gender Research Unit organized under the Institute of Development and Policy Research of Addis Ababa University. His areas of research interest include migration and urban dynamics, household structure and livelihood strategies, gender relations/empowerment and gender based violence, reproductive health, maternal and child wellbeing (nutrition, health seeking and schooling), as well as family formation and dissolution. In HABITABLE, Eshetu is the leader of the Addis Ababa University team, and mainly contributes to Work Packages 1, 3 and 5.
