Karim Zantout is Postdoctoral Researcher at PIK. He is member of the working group “Impacts of climate change on human population dynamics” and the FutureLab “Security, Ethnic Conflicts and Migration”. Karim Zantout completed his doctorate in Physics in Frankfurt am Main in 2021. His work focuses on quantitative modeling of complex systems such as climate-related extreme events and human mobility. In HABITABLE, he develops new stochastic models for international migration and analyzes the changes in climatic extreme event patterns. In the past, he has worked as a Data Scientist developing software solutions for electric grid operators.
HABITABLE aims to significantly advance our understanding of the current interlinkages between climate impacts and migration and displacement patterns, in order to better anticipate their future evolutions.
