The University of Vienna was founded in 1365 and is the largest teaching and research institution in Austria, with about 94,000 students enrolled and 9,600 employees. The Population Geography Working Group at the Department of Geography and Regional Research (IfGR) focuses on demographic and migration research in South and South East Asia and Africa. It has a strong track record on the nexus of population dynamics, environmental change and migration, and it’s researchers are currently participating in several international research consortia on the topic.
HABITABLE aims to significantly advance our understanding of the current interlinkages between climate impacts and migration and displacement patterns, in order to better anticipate their future evolutions.
