Nassim has more than twelve years of international experience managing research projects, conducting sector assessments and strategic policy and programming design in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East for a wide range of donors, UN agencies, international organisations, NGOs, and businesses. As a founder of Samuel Hall, Nassim leads the Migration and Displacement Pillar. In this role, her work has focused on the key themes of: return and reintegration, migrant aspirations, cross border mobility, and migration and development. Adopting a range of quantitative and qualitative approaches, including large-scale surveys (of up to 2,000 participants) and statistical analysis, her research has extended to community surveys and social cohesion assessments, multi-dimensional analyses of reintegration, and community understanding of refugee and other migrant needs and vulnerabilities, as well as support to community-based approaches. Nassim has extensive experience in managing multijurisdictional and region-wide projects, for a value of up to USD 1M. She has also supervised the publication of over 100 reports, 20 academic and policy publications, participated in over 15 conferences worldwide, and has facilitated international, regional and national workshops on durable solutions and displacement issues to train policy makers and practitioners. In HABITABLE, Nassim will act as a lead on Tasks 1.2, 2.1, 4.2, 5.2, 7.1, and 8.1, which will include overseeing data collection and the development of tools and workshops.
HABITABLE aims to significantly advance our understanding of the current interlinkages between climate impacts and migration and displacement patterns, in order to better anticipate their future evolutions.
