CARE France

Paris, France

https://www.carefrance.org/

Founded in 1945, CARE is one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations, working in over 90 countries to fight social injustice, with a special focus on working alongside vulnerable girls and women.

In HABITABLE, CARE will promote inclusivity and accountability and thrive to ensure practitioner and community perspectives are embedded into the research design and result dissemination. It will do so through its involvement through the Stakeholder engagement, Gender and social equity and Communication and Dissemination work packages. More specifically, CARE France will lead on the development of HABITABLE’s stakeholder engagement strategy, as well as on the dissemination of results toward policy makers, in addition to contributing to other tasks.

Promoting inclusive governance has always been at the core of CARE’s approach to addressing the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice, with the objective to strengthen the voice and accountability between communities and powerholders. CARE France also has a decade-long experience of strengthening climate change adaptation for vulnerable communities, including through Where the Rain Falls, a research-to-action program implemented across 9 countries, from 2011 to 2020.

As the only NGO in the consortium (together with its sister organization Raks Thai), CARE will contribute to strengthen the links between research and action.
